Are you always seeking an easy way to fix these problems without causing any damage to the other furniture? You should fix the problem immediately before someone is getting hurt by the heavy glass.

The main reason that causes the problem is the poor planning before decoration, poor construction or poor supervision. One solution to this problem is to make cardboard template of the mirror. A cardboard template is exactly the size of the finished mirror and put it in the exact location it should be. With the cardboard the workmen will understand there might be fluorescent lamps on both side of the cabinet. A mirror template can also shows where wood blocking to be installed to avoid the mirror to pull away from the wall. When dealing with heavy items, wood blocking will be the best thing to screw into the wall.

To solve your current problem, you should relocate the electric boxes for the mirror. Cardboard template tell you the width of the mirror and the location of the light fixture. In addition, you can fix the eletric boxes in the right place.

You maybe prefer not to break the wall, but it’s probably necessary to install the wood blocking to support a heavy mirror. An electrician may work out a solution without tearing into the wall, so you can call in a specialist.
