Everyone wants their home to be in perfect shape. Whichever part of your home should and must be as beautiful as it can be. Most countrymen consider refurbishment and repairs but they never get down to actually doing it. Most repairs such as bathroom repairs are always put on hold or postponed. This is due to many reasons. One such major reason would be the financial state of the house owner. Bathroom refurbishment and repairs cost a lot of money. Sometimes it costs money for various unnecessary things as well. One such problem is the payments for the designer and the people who bring big ideas for a small bathroom. These people cost a lot but at the same time are necessary. Mainly due to the fact that everyone wants the best for their home and because they want to do a good job of it when they refurbish it and not leave work for later times.

Ok here is what happened. Long before we were married my husband purchased a house (I do not say home as neither he nor I ever lived there). In the past years since he purchased this house he has had 2 tenants. Now we are a military family and can not be there to manage the property ourselves so there was a family member doing it for us. Well to make a long story short the family member was not doing a good job and not only was rent never paid but the house was destroyed. Until just recently we did not know the extent of the destruction and were not prepared to have to remodel an entire house. Now we have a week and a half at home and very little money in order prepare this house for sale. Please give me all the ideas you have on how to remodel a 3 bedroom one bath house for as little money as possible in just a short period of time.

Finding A Contractor To “supervise” My Remodeling Effort – Reasonable?

I am doing a pretty big remodeling effort on the house I am purchasing. None of the different efforts are that big taken separately, but all together, it is a lot. Still, I think I can handle the work with proper planning – I do have reasonable skills and have done a lot of little projects like these – just not all together.
But to make my wife more comfortable with all this, I was thinking about hiring a contractor to more or less look over my shoulder at different stages to make sure I was doing a good job. Is that really a good idea? Anyone do something like that before? Should I expect the cost to be so much that I’d be better off having the contractor do the work?
I’d be happy to have someone come in and do all the work for me. I’d rather spend my vacation time on vacation – not remodeling. But the budget I have works well with materials – not with installation included.
Thanks for any feedback/suggestions – this place has been great.
